AS OF 1ST APRIL 2011 THIS QUALIFICATION IS NO LONGER OPEN TO  NEW ENTRANTS   SAVA (and presumably the cert other schemes will do likewise)  have now  announced that they will not be updating the Home Condition software to  comply with the new RdSAP conventions, this effectively puts an end to Home  Inspection, anyone who is already registered and who wishes to finish is still able to do so,  however there are now only two further exams scheduled.                            ABBE Level 4 Diploma in Home Inspection    Assuming you have completed the training, passed the mod exams passed the ABBE exam all  you would need to do now is attend a one hour registration interview, during which time an  assessor will check over your portfolio to ensure that all is as it should be and to offer advice in  respect of any adjustments etc. that might be considered necessary.   The cost of this interview is  £50- 00 no VAT.  At the end of the interview if you decide to walk away there is no further cost. In the event that you decide to continue, then the process and cost would be as follows:- • Submit your portfolio, for  an assessment which will cover around six commissions, the  portfolio would then be returned to you with detailed guidance and feedback which will enable  you to correct these commissions and point you in the right direction in terms of making  corrections to the remaining as yet unassessed commissions.   • Once you have dealt with those point raised by the first assessment, you would return your  portfolio for the process to continue. At this time, the points raised in respect of the originally  assessed commissions will be assessed plus the previously unassessed commissions would  also be fully assessed. Depending on the outcome of this second assessment one of three  things will happen;   o In the best possible (but least likely outcome) the Assessor will tell that that your portfolio  is ready for internal verification, and that as a result no further work is required by you.   o In the worst possible outcome the Assessor will have found too many faults to be dealt  with either by email or phone and as a result the portfolio will have to come back to you  for more work. o The most likely outcome is that there would one or two points that needed to be clarified  etc, in which case the assessor would have a quick chat with you on the phone and then  ask that you provide some additional evidence by email.     • Once, whichever of the preceding three outcomes, has occurred, and the Assessor is  satisfied that your portfolio is up to the ABBE required standard, they will advise you that your  portfolio has been approved for internal verification.  • The Internal Verifier will sample your portfolio in order to ensure that all necessary points  have been dealt with. Again there is more than one possible outcome from this process:-  o In the best possible outcome the Internal Verifier will state that in their opinion the  portfolio is fit for the award, in which case your Diploma would be applied for, all that then  needs to happen is for your portfolio to be kept until the ABBE appointed external verifier  has had an appertunity to look over it.  o Or the Internal Verifier will state that in their opinion, some point or points have been  missed, in which case the Assessor would contact you and ask that you provide  additional evidence usually in the form of a statement, which can be emailed to the  Assessor, The Assessor would then formally state that in their opinion you had satisfied  the additional requirements, the Internal Verifier would then take a look at the additional  evidence, and if satisfied would then state that the portfolio is fit for the award. Again the  portfolio would have to be kept in order for the ABBE appointed External Verifier to be  able look it over.  With two exceptions our price, for this complete process is  £750-00 no VAT.
